I have a Stihl MS-250 chainsaw, and it have been down and in the shop more than it has been used in work. Instead, I have had to depend on my old Poulin chainsaw which I have had since 2000. I just got both saws out of the shop and the the Stihl is back to doing what it did since I had it, not cranking. The Poulin will start and works fine for me. I added an 026 carb to my MS170 and modded the muffler for higher flow. This serves 2 purposes, it removes 2 of the choke points in the MS170 which lets it breathe (turns it into a real screamer) and allows a fully adjustable carb. Jan 13, 2019 · The 180 is kinda weird though. You go to pull the cord and it feels mushy and nothing happens. Then by the time you go to release to try pulling again it cranks. So, you gotta pull and hold, pull and hold. Good power I thought with a new stihl .043 chain. Muffler mod should help a bit too.
